(DRESDEN) JULY 1, find 2016 – Steve Byron was lord of the track at Dresden Raceway on Friday afternoon as he drove four Ontario Sire Stakes Three-Year-Old trotting fillies to victory.
Byron opened up the Canada Day card of racing as he took MAGICAL STEPH wire to wire in fractions of 29, viagra 59, ask 1:29 and a mile time of 1:58.1. The Kadabra Filly is owned by GL Racing of Port Perry and is trained by Gary Lance.
It was a Steve Byron daily double as he won the second race while at the controls of P C CANTORE with a beautiful two-hole trip as TRUE MUSCLE and Jody Jamieson cut fractions of 29.3, 1:01.2 and 1:33.1. P C CANTORE popped out and won the race in 2:01.4. Pete Clements of Dobbinton is the owner and trainer of the Cornaro Dasolo filly.
The Thornton driver took advantage of a head of the stretch break by ANNELI HANOVER in the fifth race and pulled away to win his third OSS race of the day with WINDSONGMUSCLELADY in 2:01. John Bax is the trainer for the Muscle Mass filly for owners, Bax Stables of Campbellville and Braband Stables of London.
Byron made his fourth trip to the winner’s circle in the final division of OSS Fillies when he notched first prize while sitting behind another Bax student, MIAMI MAGIC for owners Bax Stables, and Glengate Farms of Campbellville, Gaelic Stables and Don and Sharon Allensen of Wyoming. The KADABRA filly trotted in 2:02.2
MYRETIREMENTTICKET won the other OSS race of the day for driver Jody Jamieson in 1:58.3, as she battled HAILEYSGONEDANCING and Alfie Carroll the whole mile. The Cornaro Dasolo filly is owned and trained by Eli Wagler of Ingersoll.
The Canada Day celebration saw almost 1,200 fans stay until the final race flashed official as many people were interested in the RUS race in the ninth race as SOUTHWIND ALICE and Evelyn Harms trotted the mile in 2:04.1 for top prize. The five year old Muscle Hill mare is owned by Alan Neal of Grand bend and trained by Dave Dowling.
The special treat of the day was an 8ft cake, decorated like and Canadian Flag, that was cut and served to the fans that showed up and bet a total on track handle of $29,448.
