BORTH STEALS THE SHOW AT DRESDEN RACEWAY
June 10 2018 (DRESDEN) – The Mark Austin Pacing Series kicked off today at Dresden Raceway but Tyler Borth stole the show. The Ingersoll native hit the board with all 10 drives including six wins with two seconds and two thirds.
Borth was the winning driver in all three divisions in the first leg of the Mark Austin Pacing Series.
Dresden’s leading reinsman opended the card of racing by driving BLUFROST BALLYKEEL to victory in 2:05.6. The four-year-old Majestic Son mare is owned by Ballykeel Racing and trained by Terry McKibbon.
Borth’s second win was in the first division of the Mark Austin Pacing Series when he guided GRAND BAY to her third win in a row. The three-year-old Badlands Hanover filly is owned by Jim Napper of Bothwell and trained by Cathy Gaudreau.
The second division of the Mark Austin Pacing Series saw Borth notch his third win of the day aboard 12-1 shot MYMUMASCRANKY. The six-year-old Santana Blue Chip mare paced the mile in 2:02.2 for owner Rick Edwards and trainer Stephen Roberts.
Borth’s fourth win of the afternoon as in the third division of the Mark Austin Pacing series between the shafts of MICKEYS CRUISER. Trainer Jim McGugan is a partner with Ron Thomson as an owner of the four-year-old Armbro Duece mare who paced the mile in 2:02.2.
Win number five for Borth was while at the controls of Savthelstdanceforme in 2:03.2 The 12-year-old Striking Sahbra gelding is owned and trained by Dennis Duford.
BLISSFULANNMARIE was Borth’s sixth win on the banner afternoon in 2:00.2. The seven-year-old Blissfull Hall mare is owned by Steve Girard and Napper while Gaudreau does the training.
About 600 people bet $26,805 on the day that included REGAL BEAGLE winning the Little Saratoga “Dresden Cup”. The Dresden Cup is an award for the working class horse that races week in and week out in overnights. REGAL BEAGLE is a six-year-old Stonebridge Regal horse who is owned and trained by Reg Mulholland of Leamington. Nick Steward was at the controls for the win in 1:59.1.
Next week Dresden Raceway will celebrate Father’s Day with an open house from 9am-Noon featuring a demonstration of how to harness a horse, a blacksmith demonstration as well as a mare and foal together for the fans. The track will also be giving Dresden Raceway hats to the first 50 fathers who make their way through the turnstiles. Post time is 1:30 p.m.
