JUNE 9, 2017 (DRESDEN) – SWEET QUEEN COLE is the morning line favourite in Sunday’s Little Saratoga Cup.

The five-year-old Art Colony mare is co-owned, trained and driven by Mark Williams and is looking for her first win of 2017 for Williams and partners Marjay Desjarlais and Lenore Prince.

SWEET QUEEN COLE, who is scoring from post three,  stepped off her back half in 57.3 two starts ago in London to finish third in 1:56.2 for Williams.

Two to one shot, GD CRUISE FOR GOLD, and owner, trainer, driver Donnie Rankin will be looking for his third win in a row at Dresden and will score from post eight. The three-year-old Allthatglitrsisgold gelding picked up winner’s cheques with times of 1:58.2 and 2:00 flat respectively.

Sunday’s card of racing will feature 10 live races that will can be seen world-wide at with the hope that next week people with an HPI account will be able to wager on Dresden world wide!

Sunday will also feature many draws and giveaways and as usual admission is always free with a 1:30pm post time.



June 5, 2017 (DRESDEN) – Dresden Raceway is proud to announce the MARK AUSTIN PACING SERIES to its 2017 schedule.

The series will be a late closer for Maiden Pacers who are Non-Winners of 1 Pari-mutual Race or $5,000.00 lifetime (fillies $6,000.00 lifetime) Canadian funds as of May 27, 2017 with no allowances.

Each division will race for a $5,000 purse in the eliminations July 9 and July 16 with the final set to go on July 23 for $10,000.

Mark Austin was a trainer who hailed from Chatham and got his start at Dresden Raceway in early 1980’s training for owners such as Graham Chambers. In 1988 his reputation of being great with young horses came caught up with him as he was asked to break a yearling trotter named A Worthy Lad for Joe Johnston. A Worthy Lad never lost a race in North America.

Austin then moved his stable closer to Windsor and worked with Jack Darling during the 90’s when Darling Stables produced champions like Northern Luck and Gothic Dream.

When Windsor Raceway started to stumble Austin moved his operation to Fergus where horses like Spark Mark and Fool Me Once headlined his stable.

Austin died suddenly in 2014 and had a career average of .345 and over $9 Million in earned purses thanks to 837 wins.

Austin wasn’t only a top notch trainer he was also favourite around the track as he was described as a true gentleman and was one of the nicest guys in the business.

Austin was married to Julie, with two daughters, Paige and Paula.






MAY 28, 2017 (DRESDEN) – Fourteen-year-old trotter WESKEY went to the front and never looked back today at Dresden Raceway for owner/trainer/driver Tyler Borth of Ingersoll.

The veteran Wesgate Crown gelding, that is co-owned by Borth’s father Bill, cruised to the win cutting easy fractions of 31, 1:02.2, 1:33 and a winning time of 2:02.4.

WESKEY has now won 52 races lifetime and has banked almost $303,000 over his career.

Borth, Andy Moore and Lorne House each had driving doubles as Borth also guided RYE N CLYNE to the winner’s circle while Moore won with BIG IS BETTER and GORGIOUSEVERYTIME and House won with EVIL CAM EVIL and FINALE SEELSTER.

GORGIOUSEVERYTIME was the longest shot of the day rolling across the wire at 18-1 for a $37.10 payout.

The Opening Day crowd of almost 600 people bet $19,905 on nine races.

Next Sunday afternoon is B.I.A. Day at the Races with every race being sponsored by local businesses and a slew of prizes set for giveaway.

AUG 7, viagra order sick 2016 – It wAs a hot summer night in the mid-1980s at Dresden Raceway when Mark Williams reeled off five straight wins on his way to winning eight out of ten races.

That night at Dresden Raceway was just one of many magical nights in the ongoing career of the Cottam based harness driver that has seen ups and downs with many more victories than the 5, cialis 000 he has carded in the sulky.

Williams scored his 5, store 000th driving victory at Hiawatha Horse Park in Sarnia at the controls of CARDS THAT COUNT in 1:56.2 with legendary announcer Roger Huston at the mic for the call.

The 58-year-old tailsitter has banked over $22 million purses, including eight one million dollar seasons.

Williams is a fan favourite wherever he drives as he will say hello to fans who catch his eye and will on occasion give his whip to a young fan. His savvy knowledge of each mount as well as his respect for the history of the sport that was bestowed upon him by his father Stan Williams.

Williams got his start as a young teenager sitting in the jog cart as his allergies wouldn’t allow him to work in the barn so Stan put him in the job cart allowing him to still learn the business of harness racing while still working.

A regular at many local tracks in the summer including Dresden, Hiawatha, Hazel Park and Leamington Raceway where he carded seven wins in one night, the reinsman would also spend his winters at Windsor Raceway and some nights at London’s Western Fair Raceway.

Williams has driven for many trainers over the years including guiding GLOBAL ASSAULT in the Little Brown Jug for Bob McIntosh.

Trainer John Fraleigh said `Mark Williams will give an honest drive every time. He won`t hurt your horse but will do his best to give you a chance to win and if he doesn`t do well he will tell you why.`

There have been rough patches in Mark Williams career as horseman with several crashes including bouncing off a light standard at Hiawatha Horse Park, `those things are pretty solid, they don`t move when you hit them,` he joked.

Williams also had the battle of his life with substance abuse but won that battle with the help and support of his wife Teri and his family.

`I wouldn`t be anywhere without Teri and my family,` Wiliams said, adding that they have been by his side through thick and thin and they are the most important thing in my life.

Mark Williams not only does his on track duties as a trainer and driver but he is also a voice for the harness racing community as a director with OHHA and an active force behind the Lakeshore Horse Racing Association.

When you see Williams climb on the bike to compete he will always tip his cap to the judges stand in the first post parade out of respect not only to the sport but to those who came before him cutting a path in the sport of kings.

With the utmost class and respect for not only his sport but for all those who are part of the industry from owners to grooms, Mark Williams treats everyone the same because he is one of those kings.

(DRESDEN) August 1, sickness 2016 – The 2016 season came to a close today with a huge crowd and a $36, cure 056 on track handle.

Mark Williams scored three winners on the day to bring his lifetime wins total to 4,999.

Williams opened the day with by driving a horse that he co-owns and trains to the winner’s circle. SWEET QUEEN COLE went wire-to-wire in 1:59.4. The four-year-old Art Colony mare is co-owned by Marjay Desjarlais and Lenore Price.

The Cottam horseman won his second race with 11-1 shot CARLY HOLLYWOOD in 2:00.1. The eight-year-old Camotion mare is owned by Doug Dunbar and trained by Jason Libby.

Williams scored win 4,999 in the ninth race at the controls of PLAIN EASY. The six-year-old Western Maverick gelding is owned by Mark LeSeaux and trained by Dwayne McFadden.

Tyler Borth scored two winners on the day to close out the year with 29 wins to lead the dash standings.

The closing day attendance rolled over the 1,200 mark as fans enjoyed free hot buttered corn on the cob and lots of contests and giveaways.

The total handle on the year over 11 cards of racing was $242,733 for an average on track handle of $22,066.




(DRESDEN) July 30, seek 2016 – The last day of the 2016 race season is set for this holiday Monday at Dresden Raceway and it is expected to be a packed house. The day will be a “can’t miss” event for the track as the weather forecast is perfect and the great card of racing will be complimented by free “hot buttered” corn on the cob.

The track is expected to surpass the $250, sildenafil 000 mark for the total on track handle for the year as they have averaged just over $20,667 for the season with closing day always being the biggest handle of the year.

Ingersoll reinsman, Tyler Borth, is the leading dash driver at with 27 wins on the season as Brad Forward is sitting in second place with 14 wins wand Andy Moore is third with 13 trips to the winner’s circle.

Richard Griffiths and Mike Rogers are tied for top spot in the trainer standings with nine wins each while Doug Currie is in third with seven wins.

The wrap up day will also feature lots of draws, giveaways and contests.

(DRESDEN) July 24, pills 2016 – Mark Williams is only six wins away from 5,000 lifetime victories after two more wins at Dresden Raceway.

Williams hit career win number 4993 with MAID OF THE MONEY in the sixth race. The Cottam teamster came first up with the five-year-old Winstreak Hanover mare and stepped off a last quarter in 30.1 to catch Jazzie Crombie and Alex Lilley by three quarters of a length for owner John bell of Petrolia and trainer Peter Hamilton in a new lifetime mark of 2:03.1.

The veteran driver moved to within six wins of 5,000 in the eighth race after bringing ROUGH TRADE first up and chasing down DEX THE LAND and Tyler Borth in 2:01.3. ROUGH TRADE is a four-year-old Badlands Hanover gelding and is owned and trained by Frank Hinks of Komoka.

Brad Forward, Dennis Duford and leading driver Tyler Borth each scored two wins on the day.

Borth leads the driver’s standings with 27 wins while Forward is second with 14 wins and Andy Moore is third with 13 trips to the winner’s circle.

The final race day for the 2016 season is a fan appreciation day that set for next Monday afternoon with a 1:30p.m. Post Time. The day will feature giveaways, contests and prizes as well as free hot buttered corn on the cob for all patrons.

The on track handle today was $20,175.



July 22, diagnosis 2016 (DRESDEN) – MAGNUM SEELSTER is hoping to stay red hot at the local oval as he is in search of his fifth straight win in a row. The 11-year-old Intrepid Seelster gelding has shown great favour to Dresden Raceway this season with five wins and a second in six starts including taking first prize in his last four races.

Leading driver Tyler Borth has been at the controls for each of MAGNUM SEELSTER’s starts at Dresden for owner/trainer Doug Currie of Brigden.

The 2-1 morning line favourite has another aged veteran to worry about as 12-year-old Camotion gelding CAT FOUR is expected to challenge for driver Brad Forward.

CAT FOUR was claimed three races in a row and has moved from the $6, for sale 000 claiming ranks up to a $10, pharmacy 000 price tag but has dropped back down to the $8,000 claiming ranks.

Sunday is also Kid’s Day at Dresden Raceway including bouncey castles, special children’s draws and giveaways.

The day will also feature the Earl Hyatt Memorial Pace. Hyatt was long time horseman from Brigden who was a force to be reckoned with in the 1970’s and 1980’s in Southwestern Ontario.

Post time is set for 1:30pm.



Dresden Raceway July 17 pic 2 (DRESDEN) July 17, advice 2016- Tyler Borth has all but locked up the driver’s championship at Dresden Raceway with another 4 win performance today.

A miracle of biblical proportions would need to happen for Andy Moore or Brad Forward to catch Borth with just two days race days left in the meet at Dresden.

Borth leads the driver’s colony with 25 wins while Moore and Forward are tied for second with 12 wins each.

Borth scored his first win of the day in the second race with MY GREEK PRINCESS in 2:02.4. The two-year-old Astronomical filly popped out of the two-hole mid-way through the back stretch and held off a late charge by JIMINI TOP for the win. Jim Napper and Steve Girard are the owners of the winning filly while Cathy Gaudreau is the conditioner.

The Ingersoll teamster won his second of the afternoon in the fifth race, there sitting behind LAUGH AMILE for owner/trainer Dwayne McFadden. The four-year-old Another Mile gelding broke his maiden in 2:04.

The 24-year-old reinsman made his third trip of the day to the winner’s circle in the eighth race with DEX THE LAND. DEX THE LAND went wire-to-wire after engaging in an early speed battle with ISITFRIDAYYET that saw the pair hit the quarter pole together in 27.2 before ISITFRIDAYYET broke strike leaving DEX THE LAND to hit the half in 56.4 and three quarters in 1:27.4 before logging in a winning mile time of 2:00. The three-year-old Badlands Hanover filly is co-owned by Napper and Peter Vertraete while Gaudreau is the trainer.

Borth ended the day with his fourth win by steering KELLY RAE to her fourth win in five starts at Dresden Raceway. The eight-year-old THATLLBE ME mare paced in 2:00.2 for owner/trainer John Lester and his wife Sandra.

The Wanna Drive Program was a big hit at Dresden Raceway with big line-ups for people wanting to sit in the sulky and take a trip around the half mile oval. Ontario Harness Horse Association President Brian Tropea and WEG Announcer Ken Middleton took time to host guests for the one lap trip around Dresden Raceway

The on track handle today was $22,773.





July 15, visit vcialis 40mg 2016 (DRESDEN) – The eighth race at Dresden Raceway will be a battle of epic proportions as Michigan owned and bred BARBIES BELLE and Ontario owned and bred ISITFRIDAYYET will square off.

There will be no world records set and there isn’t a million dollars up for grabs but this will be a good old fashioned horse race with two up and comers. BARBIES BELLE is a three-year-old Sportswriter filly that has finished in the top three all nine of her starts in 2016 including five wins. The Michigan entry is owned by Willis Clark of Redford Michigan with trainer Michael Clark at the controls.

ISITFRIDAYYET is a slightly more experienced three-year-old No Pan Intended gelding that also has five wins in 2016 along with three seconds and two thirds in 20 starts. Leon Mansfield of Strathroy is the owner and trainer while Mark Williams is the teamster.

BARBIES BELLE was an easy six length winner over the Dresden track last week in 1:59 while ISITFRIDAYYET got parked in some torrid fractions at Grand River and finished ninth as the race went in 1:56.2.

Sunday will also feature Legion Day at Dresden Raceway where members of the local Branch 113 of the Royal Canadian Legion will be honoured for the work they do in the community and the veterans will be honoured for their valour.

As usual there will be lots of giveaways, contests and draws at Dresden Raceway with a 1:30 p.m. post time.
